While Pattaya is known as an international beach resort, its counterparts on the opposite side of the Gulf of Thailand. Cha-Am and Hua-Hin, are known for their quiet, sedate and a almost stately atmospheres.
The town's attractions include a lively market, fishing port and endless souvenir shops. Seafood restaurants here are amongst the best in this part of Thailand. There is also a first class golf course, the Royal Hua-Hin a short drive from town.
A one hour drive from Hua Hin through pineapple and coconut plantations of Sam Roi Yod. Visit an unspoiled typical Thai fishing village and then by boat to the beach below Phrayanakorn Cave. The climb to the cave is quite rigorous. After lunch there will be time for leisure on the beach. Those not wishing to climb may spend more time on the beach.
