While Pattaya is known as an international beach resort, its counterparts on the opposite side of the Gulf of Thailand. Cha-Am and Hua-Hin, are known for their quiet, sedate and a almost stately atmospheres.
The town's attractions include a lively market, fishing port and endless souvenir shops. Seafood restaurants here are amongst the best in this part of Thailand. There is also a first class golf course, the Royal Hua-Hin a short drive from town.
The journey to the jungle west of Hua Hin takes you through a region of uninhabited peaks and valleys to the Pala-U Waterfall. After a nature walk through the forest, you reach the first level of the Waterfall where you can then continue to climb up to the fourth or fifth stage. Sensible shoes are essential as the pathway can be slippery.
